Another interesting species to rear, the larvae make a squeezing noise when toouched. Similar to a a dogs toy.

Various food plants can be used. The cocoons are very interesting as well as you can see in the picture.

Thery hatch in the Autumn and will lay eggs which will over winter.

Food plants include Oak, Willows, Cherry, but i have reared in Hawthorn successfully before.
